Principal Accountant General (Audit)      


The office of the Principal Accountant General (Audit), Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram was formed in March 1984 consequent on the reorganization of the erstwhile office of the Accountant General Kerala into Audit and Accounts offices as a part of restructuring of the Indian Audit and Accounts Department. This office is responsible for audit of Central and State Government offices in Kerala, State Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous Bodies, etc. and preparation of four Audit Reports of C&AG of India for the State of Kerala.

From September 2004, a new Office viz. Office of the Senior Deputy Accountant General (Local Bodies Audit and Accounts), Kerala headed by a Senior Deputy Accountant General under the administrative and technical control of the Principal Accountant General started functioning.

The four Audit Reports are Civil, Revenue, Commercial and Local Self Government Institutions.  In addition, this office contributes to the Central Audit Reports, i.e., Audit Paragraphs on Income Tax, Customs, Central Excise, Central Autonomous Bodies etc.
